Little ray of Sunshine

I love being able to create a complete suite of signage and details for events so I was thrilled when one of my favorite clients asked me to help come up with a color palette and inspiration for a baby shower she was putting together. I’ve talked about this before, but the SIMPLEST way to reduce stress and create an affordable event is to first come up with a color palette (and stick with it!) If planning is overwhelming to you, this will help tremendously—by having a color scheme you create cohesiveness and it can also count as your “theme”. You’ll create a visually pleasing party and be less tempted to get every decoration you think is cute—thus saving dollars. This goes for gatherings of any size—even a simple dinner party. I recommend starting small—pick 1 to 2 main colors and 1 to 3 accent colors.
PRO TIP: Create swatches of the chosen colors and save them to your phone—this way when you’re shopping you can refer to these to make sure whatever you’re getting or making fits within the scheme you’ve chosen.

The mama-to-be was in love with the thought of a “little ray of sunshine” theme but wanted it to be subtle. We decided to go with a color scheme that would be somewhat vintage/boho including mustard/yellows (main), dusty rose (main), terra-cotta (accent), peach (accent) and natural wood tones (accent).
To offset the boho vibes, we added modern touches with painted acrylic signage.

An eye-catching balloon garland was placed on top of a simple backdrop with wooden lettering. Perfect for a photo op with the mama-to-be. The lettering on the wall was almost 2 feet in length and was attached in a way it could removed + reused in the nursery (love when something can be kept and actually used from a shower!)

Simple wooden details included engraved juice tags for a “mom-osa” bar and a sweet little cake topper.
